The service
Free Video Converter is a free tool that converts video files in your web browser. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.
Your files and your responsibility
- You may only convert files that you own or have the right to use and convert.
- You are responsible for making sure your use complies with the law and with any licenses or terms attached to your files.
- Do not use the site to infringe copyright, to circumvent copy protection (DRM), or for any unlawful purpose.
- Files are processed in your browser. We do not receive or store them, and we have no ability to recover a file that is lost, so keep your originals.
Output quality
Converting a video re-encodes it, which can reduce quality compared with the original. Conversion settings are fixed presets. We do not guarantee that the output will be identical in quality, size, track content (such as subtitles or extra audio tracks) or compatibility with any particular device or software.
Acceptable use of the site
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting.
- Do not use automated tools to copy the site's content at scale.
Advertising and third-party links
The site may display advertising and may link to third-party websites. We do not endorse them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Please see our privacy policy.

The text, design and code of this site are ours or used under license. The converter relies on open-source software, including FFmpeg, which is distributed under its own licenses. You keep all rights to your own video files.

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
